My 37th Annual Ski-A-Thon Fundraising Page

At the end of my first introductory ski lesson (after a 28 year hiatus), Bob skied up to my class to meet me. The instructor warned Bob not to take me anywhere that was beyond my comfort level. Obviously he hadn't met "Mr. Safety," as Eddie and Meagan so fondly and appropriately referred to him.

Thanks to Bob, I am still skiing, though not as often, and I am still grateful for all the time we had together on the slopes, and off. Sam and I skied recently, for the first time this season. It was beautiful; a mentally and physically restorative day.

Maine Adaptive makes these kinds of days possible for children and adults with disabilities, through their year-round programs. For 15 years Bob committed his free time in the winter months to this great organization and its students; because he always loved to share his love of skiing, and because he could see how being on the slopes erased limitations for students and built confidence and joy.

Every dollar raised for MASR makes a real impact— whether by providing specialized equipment, training volunteers, or offering cost-free lessons to participants. You can make a difference by donating to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Thank you for your support.

Think snow, and be safe out there!
