Join me in supporting Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation through my Ski-A-Thon fundraiser!
As many of you know, my Dad gifted the love of skiing to my brother and me from a young age. My Dad used to say "skiing is in my blood" as his parents met while skiing in Lake Louise, Canada; so maybe it wasn't a choice and instead an inherited love. Thankfully that love continues as Greg, Lillian, Natalie and I ski as often as we can. Lillian, 5 years old, is becoming a confident skier who now loves to go into the trees and ski over 'jumps' on the side of the trails. Natalie, 2 years, has skied a handful of times this year. She starts out enthusiastically, but her that quickly wanes and gets directed towards the apres ski donuts - who can blame her!
For over 15 years my Dad volunteered weekly with Maine Adaptive Sports, an organization that empowers individuals with disabilities to experience the freedom and joy of adaptive sports - all at no cost to the participants. Last year I raised $2,217 and this year I am hoping to beat my prior goal, and for the first time try to beat my brother in fundraising (ha!). Please consider contributing to my team in support of a this wonderful organization and in honor of my Dad's philanthropic, ski-loving legacy.
